What Will Virginia Beach City Council do Now?
The Virginia Beach assessor’s report of 2010 shows a slight decrease citywide for all real estate assessments. Because assessments are less than last year, the real estate tax revenue to the city, at the current rate of $.89, will be less. Read the rest of this entry »
US Debt
Congress won’t stop throwing our money around until you make them stop.
Our US government continues to spend our money and increase the burden for the next generations – your kids and grandkids. A number of professional organizations sound the alarm again and again, but congress seems determined to spend.
The link below warns that unless congress finds the strength of character to work toward reducing the debt, we will have a debt-driven crisis in the near term.

Imbalance
The Virginia Beach city staff describes the economic situation in Virginia Beach as in a state of “Imbalance.” The five- year forecast of November 17, 2009 states in “Final Thoughts” on the last page “Together, we have a long term structural imbalance – tough decisions lie ahead in terms of cutting programs and/or raising revenues.” Read the rest of this entry »
Massive, Unsustainable US Debt
Our United States government, both Democrat and Republican, have loaded massive debt onto the next generations. Our current congress and president continue to add to the burden even though responsible authorities tell everyone that the debt is unsustainable – meaning we can’t continue to do it.
