State of the City – Question
For the city council of Virginia Beach, November 2010 is an election date.
This second series is a companion to the “State of The City” series and will pose a number of questions to city Council incumbents who are up for election (Belitto, DeSteph, Henley, Jones, Wood and Uhrin) as well as to all challengers to those seats. State of The City – Finances
A new series, exploring a number of issues, will evaluate the state of the city of Virginia Beach.
This first issue concerns the state of our city finances. As stated previously, by Virginia Beach city staff in the most recent five year forecast, “we have a long term structural imbalance.” Structural imbalance in Virginia Beach may be analyzed as our fiscal imbalance between too many ever-increasing expenses, including planned future projects, versus limited revenue sources.
