VIRGINIA BEACH  - - Virginia Beach Mayor Will Sessoms has never said he has integrity and his actions prove it over and over.

We certainly wouldn't want him protecting out back in a foxhole.

While knotted up in a tight race for mayor, he allowed his PR boys to print, post, and distribute and illegal campaign flyer showing him with presidential candidate Barack Obama.  

It was distributed in black precincts implying a link between his campaign and Obama's to get black votes to push him over the top.

In seeking the mayoral spot, he claimed to be a Republican, touting his party ties.

Now comes proof the only thing he is is an opportunistic political shill for the business community and his special interest friends.  This as evidenced by his public endorsement and support for Democrat Jody Wagner, running for lieutenant governor against the GOP's Bill Bolling.

Mike Barrett  - Wait a minute |216.54.27.206 |09-23-2009 14:42:42 Mr. Editor, Your diatribe against the Mayor is a scandalous accusation not fit for a rag, much less an electronic newspaper that aspires to inform an intelligent audience. I guess you are disappointed that the Mayor's appeal crosses many boundaries. In this case, his appreciation of a Virginia Beach native, and incredibly competent lady who has performed with distinction in both the Warner and the Kaine administrations, and who knows how to work with Legislative leaders and committees, is the reason he supports Jody Wagner. I guess you simply don't care about competence or quality as long as your candidate is a republican. Most voters have had enough of the partisan bickering, and want political leaders with the courage to tell the truth and the guts to do the right thing. That is exactly what Jody Wagner will do for us, for the City of Virginia Beach, and for the Commonwealth of Virginia. MJB sends! Reply
