And the siting of the new F-35 fighter jets has not been resolved.

In addition, several candidates on the November ballot are expected to attend the Saturday meeting for one final plea for VBTA support.

The meeting will be held in Marion Manor Retirement Center in its Terrace Room on Marion Lane, behind St. Gregory's Catholic Church on Virginia Beach Boulevard, across from Haynes Furniture.

The $3 breakfast buffet begins at 8:30 a.m. and the meeting starts at 9 a.m.

Meetings are open to the public and students are encouraged to attend.

Perhaps you ought to hear what Fred says before you tell us what you think he will say.

The only comprehensive fiscal analysis ever done on this particular issue concluded that it was more expensive to keep the master jet base than to let them go elsewhere. Ironic that the citizens of Jacksonville concluded the same thing.

Odd that the VBTA would fail to heed that analysis or at least even make note of it. I thought you stood for lower costs and lower taxes?
