Now we are confronted with a rogue regime that has stated it will defy international law and close waters that should be open to all nations. We could turn our backs on the situation and our allies, then stand by and watch Western Europe and Japan freeze this winter.
That to me would be a far greater crime than to confront the situation. I certainly find it more palatable than kissing the ass of a nation of pedophiles. In their demented minds, wanting to sit down and make nice would be interpreted that the US had become a weakling like the nations of Western Europe.
They only understand and respect strength; i.e., who could and would be willing to kick the Shiite out of them. I certainly don't see the Iranians get concerned when any of the Euro-weenies try to chastise them.
It would indeed be easier, maybe even preferable, to play ostrich and ignore what goes on around us. I just hope that should the nation chose this November to take an isolationist path, that we will take it all the way by closing our borders to further immigration and the importation of foreign goods, eliminating all foreign aid, kicking out all illegal immigrants, and withdrawing from all treaty alliances, to include the United Nations.
Now, that is true isolationism - the type I could accept - not the half-assed, chicken-shit rhetoric I'm hearing. At least I don't recall hearing anyone wanting to go whole hog on that issue. I wonder why. Too manly an idea, perhaps?
