The problem with liberals today is that they have no morals. Yep, I said that! They are morally bankrupt. They live in a fairytale land where everyone is entitled to whatever they need or want. Hence the problem - the word "entitled."
The underlying principal with liberals is that they believe that a person's need entitles him to the wealth of other people. They simply don't understand that people have a responsibility to themselves to take care of themselves. Yes, unforeseen circumstances come along, and that is what insurance is for. But, compounding the problem is that liberals feel that we have a duty to share the fruits of our hard work with others.
We do that every day. With our children. With our donations to charity. With the forced-at-gunpoint donations we make every April 15th. If you are self-sufficient, hard working, and plan for yourself and your family, then the left believes that you should do so for those either too stupid or too lazy to do it for themselves. They believe that you have a legal obligation to allow yourself to be robbed by others.
Bullshit.
What they want is this: if you are able to work and take care of yourself, a portion, nay, the excess, of what you make should go to others in need. Let me rephrase this in a way that you may recognize: "From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs." (Karl Marx)
I hear the liberals crying "foul" right now. "What about those who cannot take care of themselves, due to accident, injury, birth-defect, etc?" Yes, there are those unfortunate enough to have been born with "issues." The system provides for that now. But, liberals do not feel that is enough. They want everyone to be entitled to a big screen color TV and cable. High speed internet. A new car. Lobster and steak, instead of hamburger and hot dogs.
Marx’s plan is flawed throughout. How do I know what my FUTURE needs are? Why should I give all of my excess to others who won’t work, when I could be saving for myself, to have in case of an emergency? Oh right, that would make me less dependent on others. It would mean I am taking responsibility for myself.
We can’t have that, can we?
And who is the government (or anyone else) to say how much is enough? If I earned it, why can’t I keep it? Class warfare is alive, but not how the liberals perceive it – it is pitting the middle and lower class against the high income earners! If I were forced to give the government a higher percentage of my income than others, I would be really ticked off. The really sad part is that it is not necessary.
In today's industrialized nations, it is a small fraction of a minority that cannot provide for themselves. Those that truly NEED help usually get it. However, the system is plagued by too many generational welfare families, who could work, but choose to not work and make babies to get more money from you and me. This has to stop.
Over a century ago, Americans had no entitlements...no welfare. If you wanted to eat, you worked. Just that simple. We should return to that basic concept today. Yes, we need some of the basic programs for those in need – not in need by choice. (And laziness is a choice.) Allow natural selection to rule. Allow the weak to pass, and the strong (physically and intellectually) to survive. No eugenics, no killings. Just plain natural selection.
I don't see any lions or gazelles with food stamp cards!
The “moral less” liberal left is designed to take - yes TAKE - by force of law - STEAL, would be a better word - from those willing to work and be productive citizens, and give it to the lazy and inept.
Can it be any more plain?
