In an unprecedented attack on Mayor Sessoms, City Manager Jim Spore, certain other members of council, Councilmen John Moss and Bill DeSteph called an unauthorized, unsupervised, unaccountable secret expenditure of $700,000 on an Arena plan a fraud on the people of Virginia Beach.

Certain council members were involved with the Virginia Beach Development Authority in more than a year of violations of the Virginia Freedom of Information Act.

City attorney, vice mayor, mayor, and others in the know pooh pooh it the violations of law as insignificant. Others see it differently. It is just part of what is becoming an increasingly corrupt city government.

At the TLP meeting, Moss and DeSteph held a joint session. See video of the event here:

Thank goodness for Moss and DeSteph or the Council would have already signed the "Arena" and "Convention Hotel" deals. The taxpayers would have been finding out about both when ground was being broken.

How bad is the corruption? It's bad enough that I am very impressed by the breadth, depth and intensity of the corruption. I was raised in Plaquemines Parish, LA, during the reign of Judge Leander Perez, king of corruption.

What I see going on in VB rivals anything that the Judge pulled off! Nobody was exposing the Judge. At least here in VB we have some folks fighting to disclose the corruption. Send some additional "Corruption Cops" to city governemnt to help Bill and John. Vote Golden, Smith, McCormick and Kowalewitch for new leadership.
