BANK OF AMERICA FRAUD ALERT! Lose money quicker than gambling! All you have to do is respond to scammers who are attacking the email again with a phishing attempt aimed at Bank of America customers.

 

When you go behind the email you find the following alert saying it is a forgery. Best practice? Never answer any email that comes into your personal email box from any bank or financial institution.

Old newspeople can smell these things a mile away, but we seem to be the first to get them.


The most recent emails were sent out indiscriminately to email addresses. They tell recipients to verify 'your current details.'

A side note warns: "Remember: This process is Mandatory and should be done immediately."

It continues:

"Date: 02/08/2010

Dear Valued Customer :

During our regular update and annual scheduled maintenance of Bank of America Online Services, we could not verify your current information.

Either your information has been changed, incomplete or erroneous data was submitted during your sign up process.

As a result of this, your access to use our online services has been limited. You are herby [sic] advised to immediately update your information.

To Fully restore your online banking access, kindly update your information. You can update your online banking details by following the secure reactivation link below and signing in.
