VBTA_082810_debate

Toni Hedrick

Then Golden said he learned Rigell had supported Democrat Sen. Mark (Mark Warner Lies) Warner, other Democrats, gave $10,000 to a campaign to favorably pass the highest tax increase in the state’s history, and supported a transportation bill that would have forced un-elected regional government on the people. The regional plan was ruled unconstitutional, null and void.

Nye's empty chair didn't respond. Rigell has attended a forum at the VBTA before he won the nomination.

Rigell has been scorned by the conservative wing of the GOP for his contribution and support for Obama.

The other questions had to do with the Fair Tax, fiscal responsibility in government, a 2% reduction across the board on all 15 departments of government, and supporting conservative values.

Approximately 75 people attended the meeting.

Actually no, kind editor. The event revealed that the VBTA's constant opposition to those projects that benefit the City have turned off all but its most extreme members. No reason for all the candidates to show up.

Fact is, the less than 16% showing at the last election, and revelations that the VBTA has opposed every project that has increased commercial tax revenue to keep our tax rate the lowest in the region, has caused mainstream voters to shy away from this moribund and nearly defunct organization.

I guess these washed up ideologues have to run for office to gin up a crowd. Who would want to waste any money supporting this ticket?
